Teresa S. Monteiro lovingly known as "Texinha", 98, of Pawtucket, Rhode Island , passed away on December 22nd, 2024 peacefully at her home . Teresa Monteiro was born in the beautiful island of Fogo, Cabo Verde to Carlota DaSilva Monteiro, Francisco Rebelo on May 25, 1926.
Teresa Monteiro is survived by her son , Arcindo “Chindo” Monteiro & his wife Maria Monteiro of Pawtucket, RI. Her brother Antonio S. Rebelo Monteiro. She also lovingly raised Maria “Ia”Depina & Sabino Monteiro. Grandchildren Steven Monteiro,Jason Monteiro, Sheila Monteiro, Shalise DePina and Anthony DePina. Great Grandchildren Naishawn Quezada, Ezra Monteiro, Naivon Kafo & Noah Monteiro.
Teresa was known for her loving, caring and hospitable nature and kindness to all who knew her. She was an amazing cook. She was a cherished “VoVo” to her numerous nieces,nephews and many friends and family, leaving a lasting legacy of love and affection to all that would stop by the house.
Along with her parents she is predeceased by Marcelino Rodrigues Monteiro, Raul Rebelo Monteiro, Maria Rita Rebelo, Alcinda Monteiro and Manuel Gomes.
Calling hours will be held at the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Higginson Ave, Lincoln, RI 02865 on Sunday, December 29, 2024 from 5pm-8pm. Her Funeral will be Monday, December 30, 2024 at the Keefe Funeral Home at 10:30am followed by a funeral home service starting at 11:30am. Burial will follow in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence, RI.
